Time Setter 5000

At CW&T, make a bunch of Solid State Watches each week. Because these watches are permanently sealed into its case with no buttons, the time and day of the week need to be set to the appropriate time zone before we make each watch.

Time Setter 5000 is our purpose built device to set Casio F91-W watches to the correct time and time zone super fast.

The watch movement snaps into a custom pogo pin jig to connect to the watch's pcb. A camera above reads the display, a Raspberry Pi senses each segment to interpret the watch display time. We select a time zone on the touchscreen and the rest is taken care of by the device. Once it’s done setting the time, it checks itself and gives a green light if everything looks good.
